I Scaled the Wall

Look at it!! My my my... A cert with my name on it. How proud am i. Tuesday & Wednesday went yo take up the basic wall course at Camp5 @ 1Utama.

It's been a great experience to try it. I'm afraid of heights mind you. But i managed to overcome it. When i reached up there with my efforts and the cheering and motivation from friends, there's no other word can describe it. Pure fun with sweat.

Ok. First day, reached there early as stated by them. Then pay the fees and fill up some forms. Then got ready with my whole bunch of monkey friends. Too bad unable to take pics as we were all too busy learning those basic stuffs. Basic and important things as in the figure 8 knots, what's carabiner, ATC (air traffic controller), how to wear a harness, the 5 steps of belay and etc. Time went by quite fast. In the final part we were taught the communcation during the climb. Then each were to climb once. That's for the first day's 2 hours.

Second and final day and the remaining 2 hours. Got our shoes wear on. Climbing shoes i mean and i'm not refering to bata shoe. Kevin, our instructor from New Zealand taught us the way, posture, everything on how to climb by using the most energy on our legs and not by hand. Firstly we tried bouldering. It is fun i would say. Not ropes attached, but the boulder is not too high. Only if not done correctly it will get our legs broken. Then, after trying, our big time!! The remaining 1 1/2hours, we scaled the short and high wall. See from below was like 'sap sap water' but when you got up there, it's a completely different story. Tried different routes. Each routes has it's own difficulty marked by those coloured blocks. The End.

It's pure fun fun fun and fun. Next day, we were supposed to get our muscles pain, but surprisingly there's none at all. I guess It is still not that extreme till the muscle got tired out. Really a great experience. But too bad, quite lots of people consider this sports expensive, not worthy and some even say fat cannot climb and dangerous and other lame excuses. I would say it is the better choice to get ourself healthy and fit by climbing. Nothing can be compared. Even though it is a bit of expensive, it's worth the money compare to the money that we waste on other meaningless and unhealthy habits. From climbing, one can get the motivation, determination to get to the top, never try never know attitude will be formed. Also there's cheering from friends when one is almost giving up during the climb. Great atmosphere. All i can say is that we'll get the positive results!!

Camp5 @ 1Utama i would say is the best currently we can get on climbing gym in M'sia. There's a climbing gym in Summit USJ too, but it's not as cozy as in camp5 and also it looks like a crap compare to camp5.

Yes i consider myself fat and got a belly. But some of my friends tease me and are of not supportive. See i have got a CERT. Means i can climb. Those who tease me and gave lame...very lame excuses are a bunch of loosers.

Hopefully there'll be some of us continue involving into this healthy sport.
